Vaccination Requirements for Hajj & Umrah
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia requires all pilgrims to be vaccinated against meningococcal disease before entering the country.
Meningococcal ACWY-135
The Meningitis ACYW-135 vaccine is required for Hajj and highly recommended for Umrah. Travel health requirements are set by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and may change, so be sure to confirm current vaccine entry requirements with the Saudi government before travel.
Official Certificate
The Meningitis ACYW-135 vaccine is required for Hajj and recommended for Umrah. Other vaccines may be recommended and could require a separate travel consultation—please ask your healthcare provider for more information.
Important Information
Timing
The vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before arriving in Saudi Arabia. We recommend getting vaccinated as early as possible to allow time for processing your visa.
Validity
The certificate that we issue for the Meningitis vaccine is valid for 3 years when travelling to Saudi Arabia.
What to Bring
Please bring your passport and any previous vaccination records to your appointment. We'll provide you with the official certificate after vaccination.
Additional Recommendations
While meningococcal vaccination is mandatory, a separate consultation may be recommended to discuss additional health precautions for your pilgrimage, including seasonal influenza vaccination and general travel health advice.
